Sustaining – Sustaining follows on from Dr. Seuss’; The Lorax. This satire places The Lorax and the Once-ler in a relationship years on from the denigration of the Truffula plantations. Although the title of the fan-fiction is both questionable and misleading, the domestic placement of two such inventive characters is amusing in itself. The humour is reinforced by solid dialogue and the use of Seuss vocabulary in a serious conversation. Skill-wise, Sustaining is confidently written and made me laugh at its unexpected storyline.
