Holli's FanFic Reviews

The_Wonderland_Gang

Awesome fanfic which takes the approach of characters from Wonderland going into
New York city. It is interesting the way the characters interact and discover things in our world, just as the origional Alice would have in Wonderland.

The writing and storyline is coherent and interesting and easy to understand with lots of description of setting and characters.

I like that it is modern day and quite dark, this is the approach I want to take for my fanfic.

Rum_and_Tea

This is another modern day Alice In Wonderland, this fanfic gives a great introduction and back story to the
Alice character.
This fanfic was really gripping, especially the last few paragraphs where
Alice is in the woods searching for her friend and the a rabit appears from the darkness.
Good quality writing, I was kept interested with a perfect amount of description and well established dialog between well defined characters.

Alice_is_Dead_Episode_1

Alice is Dead - This fanfic is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and a computer game called Alice is Dead. It is a modern interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, using theme inspired characters, ideas and settings.
The writer seems to throw you into the middle of the adventure. I found this story captivating and compelling, usuing short and snappy sentences. Although the story seems quite dark, there are moments of sarcasm and humor which adds colour to the storyline.
Although i found the plot a little hard to follow at times, overall i really enjoyed this unique Fanfic

 The_Cheshire_Cats_Lullaby

The
Cheshire Cats Lullaby - Poem written in perspective of the Cheshire Cat to Alice (in refference to Alice in Wonderland).
I absolutley love this poem ! The rhytm and the structure of the poetry flows really well, is easy to understand and is interesting.
It was sweet and heartfelt and I love the fact the poem is in perspective of the cat.
Personally I appriciate that the context of the poem could be applied to the situation of any normal girl going through adversity - not just Alice in Wonderland, which inspires a lot of ideas for my own Fanfic.
This piece of writing is creative and successful in the fact that the emotive language used made me feel for
Alice. Overall, a very powerfully emotional and very sweet poem from a pet to it's owner, which I'd reccomnend reading.

When_6_oclock_comes

Whens 6 O'clock Comes - A short and gloomy look at the new life of
Alice. (In refference to Alice in Wonderland).
A very dark piece of writing which
Alice is depicted as a depressing, mentally ill girl, far from the idea of the happy Disney Alice character we are all use to.
The writer captivates you with the airy, sombre yet almost evil tone of the story.
The storyline was short and effective -although you seem to get thrown into the middle of a scene, the writing is clear and it is easy to make sense of what is going on.
We see just a snippet and are left with a cliff-hanger and I am dying to see how the story ends !

BIG little Marilyn

They all thought Marilyn had killed herself, of course I new better.

I cant deny the fact that I somewhat lost my mind back in 1956, whilst working on The Prince and the Showgirl. Having just graduated from Oxford University, I was eager to escape home and make my way in the world.

After many failed attempts I finally landed a role as third assistant, working with Sir Laurence Olivier, Dame Sybil Thorndike and brushing shoulders with Authur Miller. However, there was one especially fantastic actress in particular that I was looking forward to working with.

The Moment my eyes set upon her I was in love, as were most men across the globe. She was the epitome of beauty, grace and sex appeal. Marilyn Munroe.

I suppose you could blame elements of her personality for my newfound mentality. But it was impossible not to fall in love with her. She was captivating. So captivating, in fact, that by the time production had wrapped up, she had chewed me up, and spat me back out.

A troubled soul - lost in the world around her, and too big and alive for most to comprehend – she was kept quiet with a heavy concoction of prescription drugs. They tried to make her fit inside their tiny minds, but she was too big, she had so much to offer, so much talent.

I saw her passion for acting everyday. It was pure and true. She wanted to capture and encompass everything a character had to offer. She was so incredibly capable too. She gave acting everything she had, she gave her character everything. With each take she lost herself more and more and transformed into a whole other person. If was almost frightful on occasions, watching her try to get in to character, the internal struggle that she so obviously face. It was as though two parts of her were at war, and she couldn’t bring herself to let one of them down.

Watching her work was incredible. Despite the drugs, the alcohol, the silent abuse - manipulation from the people around her – she always had an astounding ambiance. Her perseverance was admirable. Although it used to break my heart to watch her struggle, I couldn’t help but be entirely captivated by her performances.

Apparently, she took somewhat of a liking to me also..

We went away together, for a week. We made love. She stayed sober. I saw the real her. It was intoxicating. I found myself in bed with Norma Jeane, a raw, real and erratic young girl, looking for someone, anyone to love her. I began to see what was happening. The film crew - her people - were doing all that they could to suffocate Norma Jeane, bury her within the depths of all that was Marilyn Munroe. It was cruel and twisted.

Eventually they found us; they didn’t have to look hard. Its not that we had tried to disappear, it was merely a break. Unfortunately they refused to see it that way. Sir Oliver was the least understanding of them all, steam arising from his ears as he hurled words of abuse at us.

They took us back to set, and I was told to never speak to Marilyn ever again, which was utterly ludicrous considering our inevitable proximity to one another on set. Marilyn made it easier on me though, I would catch her looking at me, searching my face, but as soon as our eyes met she would look away, leaving me to guess what is was she was looking for.

Weeks went by, of shooting that is. She was getting weaker. They kept increasing her medication, trying to keep her under control. What little energy she had left went into the very depths of her character. As soon as the day would come to and end, she would withdraw completely, becoming a ghost of herself. It was tragic, but so beautiful to understand her passion.

It was too much for me. I couldn’t understand, but I was so entirely young and in love that when I look back on it now none of it makes sense. I killed them, all of them, every sick and unappreciative one.

I don’t exactly know what happened that night. I remember going to Marilyn’s room too check if she was still breathing. That was my ultimate fear. At least if she was breathing I knew in my heart of hearts that she was in there somewhere. She was unconscious, still breathing, but only just, I tried to wake her, but she lay limp in my arms, ice cold and whiter than her soft curls. I screamed and left the room in a rage. They simply could not keep doing that too her. She deserved none of it. I was the only one that could teach them a lesson.

After that I blacked out. The doctors told me I killed them, all of them, in their sleep. Stabbed. Dead. He told me I went on a rampage and I lost all control. There was at least 27 people in that house, all well respected members of Hollywood, and I murdered them.

I had lost all control, and I didn’t have the slightest idea as to what I was doing.

The horrible truth of it all is: I couldn’t stop.

Chris FanFic - Enough With the Lies

ENOUGH WITH THE LIES

“So how was Beverly Hills?" Ben asked. "As fun as Paris?" he said, showing a picture he had found of his sister Jane under the Eiffel tower. Her heart sank.

"Where did you get that?"

"I went in to your room to see if you were there, and found it lying around. You need to stop lying. What is going on, Jane?" Ben said.

Jane sighed. "Well, what do you want to know?"

“I want to know the truth. I went in to your work the other day and spoke with some guy who said you were in Beverley hills attending a meeting.”

Jane sighed, patting the couch beside her. Her brother sat next to her, ready to listen.
"Okay. You know how I had an interview with Donovan Decker for my internship? Well Grey who is the director of the company got confused and thought I was there for the executive assistant position. I got the job on the spot and was going to tell her the truth, but…"
"Yes?" Ben urged her.

Jane rolled her eyes and started to explain. “I only took the position because, that was when you didn't have a job. And we really needed the money, and Grey offered me $34,000 salary, and I just… I couldn't turn her down. So, ever since then I've been running around the city, leaving school early and getting Billy to drop me off. I would quit or even tell them the truth, but I can’t!” Jane said, looking at her brother with innocent eyes.  "This is all I’ve ever wanted to do with my life. This job just came, out of the sky landing itself in my lap, and if I tell them the truth about me, I may never find a way back into the fashion industry.”

Ben looked at Jane, feeling sorry for her. He loved his sister, but he needed to punish her so that she understood that she couldn’t keep lying to him like that. If he made her give up this job, she would never forgive him. He sighed. "Jane, you're only seventeen. It feels like you’re growing up too fast and I have a job now so I can afford to pay the bills.”

Jane bit her lip. "But, this isn’t about the money anymore! It's my dream job and you know it!  I am not keeping it because we don't have any money. I'm keeping it because I love it! Please don't make me give it up!" she pleaded.

Ben sat there a moment. "You do realize I have to punish you. You're my little sister. It's my responsibility to take care of you. You can't just run around the city pretending to be an adult!"

Jane sat back, guilt bubbling in her chest. "I'm so sorry, Ben! Ground me, take away my phone, my computer, just, please, don't make me give up this job!"

Ben decided to drag the conversation along more. “Hmm so what makes you think that you deserve the right to keep the job? You lied to me and I don’t like liars and it’s going to be very hard for me to trust you now.”

Jane stood up and started to cry. “Why do you have to treat me like this Ben? Just because I lied to you once doesn’t mean I will lie to you again. I had a legit reason behind my lies and just explained why, but it looks like you don’t give a shit!”

Ben stands up in anger. “Excuse me but do I need to remind you who the adult is in the family? Don’t you give me attitude! I know I’m your brother but I have also been your legal guardian since dad left. So if I were you I would just sit down and shut up.”

Ben takes in a deep breath and calms himself down. “Oh and by the way I was just kidding around with you. Do you really think I would take away your dream job from you? That would just be insane and unfair. I understand your reason but I’m still angry at the fact that you lied to me about it.”

Ben sighed and pointed at Jane. “You’re grounded for two weeks. No partying, or going out for anything other than work. And when you go out for work, you tell me where you are going and don't do anything illegal or that you know you shouldn't do. I will let you keep your phone but not the computer. You should consider yourself lucky that I am being nice to you.”

Jane screams. "What? Are you serious? Please tell me you’re not lying? You don’t know how much this means to me, I love you so much! Thank you, and I’m so sorry for being rude, I was just upset.”
Ben then gets ready to drop Jane off to school and waits for her while she packs her bag.

What Happens In Rosewood, Stays In Rosewood
First of all i would just like to stay that i am a huge pretty little liars fan myself, and had found this Fanfic intriguing. I like the way the writer put together the whole story and kept it simple. I'm happy that they stuck to the story line and made it more interesting.

I found that this fanfic of the television series Being Human, was very interesting but boring at sometimes. This story is basically explaining what has happened in one of the episodes from season 1. there were some bits that were changed but i did not see the point in changing those parts because they had nothing to do with the main story line.

FanFiction Review No. 2

So i decided to read about one of my favorite shows when i was little. This Fanfic of Hannah Montana is the most crack up story i have ever read, like seriously if this was a real episode i think i would actually die of laughter, just imagining this is to much for me. I quite like it and found it entertaining, especially the part where they made Hannah seem like a Slut.
